Hi, will the substitute remote , that works arrival require a receiver for the system. In the case the current receiver is damaged and that's the problem not the old remote.
99% of the time the issue is with the remote. If the receiver is damaged you will know as soon as the remote arrives it wont work.
Your safest bet is to buy a new remote and if it doesnt work, then check the receiver.
